SideQuest ("we", "our", "us") provides a mobile productivity app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1) Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, auth identifiers (via Firebase Authentication).
- User content: notes, tasks, flashcards, prompts, and settings you create in the app.
- Optional Google data: Gmail data only when you connect your Google account and grant scopes.
- Technical data: basic diagnostics and usage events for reliability and debugging.
2) Gmail scopes and why we request them
.../auth/gmail.readonly: read email messages and metadata so we can show inbox summaries and urgent items..../auth/gmail.compose: create and edit drafts based on your prompts..../auth/gmail.send: send email only after explicit user action.
We do not use Gmail data for advertising and we do not sell Gmail data. Gmail data is used only to provide user-requested app features.
3) How we use data
- Provide core app functionality (sync, note editing, planner, AI assistant).
- Generate user-requested outputs (drafts, summaries, replies).
- Secure accounts and detect abuse.
- Improve app stability and performance.
4) Storage and security
Data is stored using Firebase and Google Cloud services. OAuth tokens are stored server-side with access controls. We apply transport encryption and access restrictions for backend operations.
5) Sharing and third parties
We do not sell personal data. We only share data with service providers needed to operate SideQuest (for example: Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure). We may disclose data when required by law.
6) Retention and deletion
We retain data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion by contacting support. You can also disconnect Google access at any time from the app.
7) Your choices
- Do not connect Google if you do not want Gmail features.
- Revoke connected Google access from app settings.
- Request account/data deletion via support email.
8) Children
SideQuest is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
9) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
